The flood that hit the area yesterday, October 21, dealt a severe blow to many residents and farms.
Wineries, homes, public places, and vineyards have been damaged. The road system is partly blocked or compromised.
The territory is once again put to the test.
We know about landslides and subsidence and unfortunately also about one fatality.
The Consortium for the Protection of Gavi in the face of this calamity, which has so severely affected the population and so many associates, in order to facilitate the timely resumption of work, urges the Piedmont Region to promptly verify the damage and implement a rapid solidarity response.
We also want to stress the importance of protecting the fundamental role of agriculture, in caring for and preserving the countryside, as good land management can help limit the fury of natural phenomena.
We remain available
On behalf of the Council of the Consortium for the Protection of Gavi.
