Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour was the guest of honor at the preview of the second edition of Vendemmia a Torino - Grapes in Town, held this morning at the National Museum of the Risorgimento.
An exceptional prologue anticipating the rich kermesse of events that will be held in the city on October 19, 20 and 21.The event is designed to strengthen the link between the city and Piedmontese wines, offering the many enthusiasts the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Piedmont's great wine productions. Consistent with the spirit of the event, in fact, the deep ties between Cavour and wine were recalled during the preview, both in his capacity as the winemaker of Barolo in Grinzane and as minister of Agriculture. Cavour - impersonated by Franco Urban, actor and official interpreter of the Piedmontese statesman - thus guided guests between the courtyard of Palazzo Carignano and the rooms of the Museo del Risorgimento, for an unprecedented tour between history and oenology, concluded with a toast with wines from the consortia of Piemonte Land of Perfection.
